Sealcoating

Basic prep- Edging grass off the surface of the asphalt, Removing grass or weeds from joints & cracks in the surface, Cleaning all debris with  broom & blowers, Disposal of debris on site. Tools you may see us use Edging shovel / Power edger, Wire bristle broom/ Power broom, Backpack blower/ Walk behind blower.

We use a commercial grade coal tar asphalt sealer blended with 23% water, 3 pounds of sand per gallon, 3% latex hardener. We use a cut in broom 3ft wide around all obstacles & apply the remainder by spraying with an air powered sealcoating rig that pumps materials out above 60 PSI. This method ensures that the sealer is forced into the surfaces pits & cracks.

Crack filler

Crack fill:  All cracks or seams ⅜ inch or larger will be filled unless otherwise noted. We clean out all cracks with broom / blowers & sometimes heat lance. We use commercial grade blocks of rubber that we heat to a temperature 375 degrees in our melting pot. We then apply the rubber in a liquid form with our banders. The bander will allow this hot liquid rubber to fill in the crack. The bander leaves a nice uniformed line. The hot rubber will shrink when it cools; this will sometimes leave a small ⅛ inch u shaped indent in bigger cracks.
